From: 67,00

Reproduction of the famous statue by Michelangelo Buonarroti, representing the dusk.
Product in resin and marble powder with marble base, made in Tuscany and finished by hand.
The original is located in the Sagrestia Nuova, inside the Museo delle Cappelle Medicee.

Dusk is one of the statues that form part of the funerary complex of the New Sacristy, inside the Medici Chapels, designed and sculpted by Michelangelo between 1520 and 1533. Together with Dawn, its counterpart, it rests upon the tomb of Lorenzo Duke of Urbino. Dusk is represented as a man about to lie down for the night, his legs crossed and one arm stretched across his thigh in the act of holding a veil. Together with the other three statues in the New Sacristy – Dawn, Day and Night – it represents one of Michelangelo’s Allegories of Time. These subjects were probably conceived by the artist as a symbol of the Medici family’s victory over the inexorable passing of time itself.
