Palazzo Madama is one of Turin’s historical landmarks, with an architectural structure that reflects over two thousand years of history: from a Roman gate to a medieval castle, later becoming the residence of the Royal Madames of Savoy and eventually housing the first Senate of the Kingdom of Italy. Since 1934, it has hosted the Civic Museum of Ancient Art, featuring collections ranging from the Middle Ages to the 18th century, including decorative arts, furniture, textiles, ceramics, and Piedmontese painting. The palace is also home to a Medieval Botanical Garden, reconstructed based on historical documents. Reopened in 2006 after extensive restoration, it remains a key institution for the history and culture of the region.
