Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that websites send to the user’s browser, where they are stored to be re-sent to the same sites on subsequent visits by the same user. In this way, the website or server recognizes the browser and remembers the preferences expressed by the user, along with other information useful for facilitating browsing. 

Cookies differ from one another based on the purposes pursued and by who uses them. 

Depending on the specific entity that installs cookies on the user’s terminal, cookies can be distinguished as: 

• First-party cookies: set by the website itself (with a domain matching the one shown in the browser’s address bar) and can only be accessed by that website; 

• Third-party cookies: set by domains different from that shown in the browser’s address bar, i.e., by organizations not corresponding to the website owners. These cookies are used, for example, to collect information for advertising or content personalization purposes, as well as to track site visits. 

Cookies may also be distinguished as: 

• Technical cookies: essential for the correct operation of a website or application. Without this type of cookie, the website may not function correctly or may prevent certain functions entirely. No prior consent from users is required for their installation; 

• Analytics cookies: collect certain information about users’ navigation to analyze how users interact with website content, thereby improving site performance and/or enabling navigation. The site also uses analytics cookies provided by third parties, with tools to reduce the identifiability of the analytics cookies (e.g., by anonymizing significant portions of the IP address) and without “enrichment” or “cross-referencing” with other information. These analytics cookies, with these characteristics, are treated as technical cookies as they are used to provide the service and are stored separately; 

• Profiling cookies: used to collect and store information about visitors (such as visited pages, searches performed, etc.) to deliver more targeted advertisements consistent with their interests. The use of profiling cookies requires user consent. In the case of third-party cookies, the site has no direct control over individual cookies and cannot manage them (i.e., cannot install or delete them directly). However, users can manage these cookies through browser settings (see the “How to delete cookies from your computer” section), or through sites indicated in the “How to object to third-party cookies” section.
