School groups are also\u00a0obliged to use earphones, both those in the daily maximum number of groups allowed and those entering as individuals, as per the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beculture.it\/en\/info-biglietteria-uffizi\/#rules\">Regulations<\/a>\u00a0and taking into account the exceptions already foreseen. In order that the time you spend discovering our collections should be as pleasant as possible, some simple rules that all visitors must read and comply with are listed below.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><p><strong>Planning your visit<\/strong><\/p><p>Prior to your visit, particularly during extremely busy times and in the case of single visitors, we suggest booking your ticket <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beculture.it\/en\/product\/la-galleria-degli-uffizi\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p><div>In order to avoid lengthy queues on admission. Booking is optional and charged, but enables reducing waiting times. The ticket allows a single entry and cannot be reused. The museum staff may ask you to show your ticket at any point during the visit, and it must therefore be kept carefully for the entire length of the visit.\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>The organization and opening times and of the Uffizi Galleries may be viewed in each museum site section or here<span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0(<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.beculture.it\/en\/product\/la-galleria-degli-uffizi\/\">Uffizi\u00a0<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u2013\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.beculture.it\/en\/product\/palazzo-pitti\/\">Palazzo Pitti<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u2013\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.beculture.it\/en\/product\/giardino-di-boboli\/\">Giardino di Boboli<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">).<\/span><\/div><div>Works which are on temporary loan to other institution for exhibitions, temporarily absent due to maintenance or restoration interventions, or for other reasons, may be consulted here.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Backpacks, bags, umbrellas and other large objects must be stored in the cloakroom prior to entry. Storage is free. Visitors are subject to metal detector inspection in some museums.<\/div><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><p><strong><b>FOR ALL VISITORS<\/b><\/strong><\/p><p><strong>We remind to all the visitors the respect of the rules against the spread of Covid-19:<\/strong><\/p><div>Inside the museum all national and regional rules apply to counteract the spread of Coronavirus. In particular, it is recalled that people with body temperatures above 37.5 degrees are prohibited from entering (visitors\u2019 temperature will be taken at the entrance); the use of the mask covering mouth and nose, is mandatory during the entire stay in the museum. Assemblies of all kinds are prohibited; groups cannot exceed 16 people; tour guides or any accompanying person giving information during the visits must always use the whisper system (microphone and earphones), regardless of the number of members of their group.<\/div><div>All visitors must comply with the common rules of good manners. In general, no behaviour which may compromise the safety of the works or of other visitors is allowed. The general indications given in the museum signs and indicated by the museum staff must be observed. Voices should be kept moderate. Clothing which is appropriate to the formal setting of the museum is required (for example, visiting the museum in a bathing costume or skimpy clothing as well as wearing wedding dresses, period costumes or any other fancy dress undignified for such places is considered inappropriate). It is forbidden to walk barefoot or bare-chested in the museum.<\/div><div>Visitors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Mobile phones must be turned off or at least placed in silent mode.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>It is absolutely forbidden to:<\/div><ul><li>touch the works of art or to place objects close to them which may cause damage (with the single exception of the visually impaired or the blind, in relation to the works included in the dedicated itineraries)<\/li><li>lean on the base of sculptures or against walls<\/li><li>run in the museum premises<\/li><li>eat or drink in the exhibition areas<\/li><li>introduce canned drinks<\/li><li>introduce alcoholic drinks or corrosive drinks (e.g. Coca Cola)<\/li><li>smoke (the prohibition also includes esmoking)<\/li><li>use flash photography; to take photographs or videos using selfie sticks, lightstands, tripods or any kind of professional equipment<\/li><li>write on or dirty the walls<\/li><li>leave paper, bottles, chewinggum or other waste: use the appropriate bins!<\/li><li>introduce knives and\/or other metal objects into the museum; introduce any kind of firearm and\/or dangerous material. Armed visitors (including those with a regular licence) may not access the museum; any special conditions must be notified and may possibly be agreed beforehand with the Institute Director.<\/li><li>introduce animals, with the exception of guide dogs for the blind, servicedogs assisting the disabled and pets for medical\/therapeutic reasons (pet therapy) with a certificate issued by doctors belonging to public health services.<\/li><li>introduce drones and similar devices\u00a0<\/li><li>for security reasons, it is compulsory to submit the staff all LAG products and overcoats in order to facilitate inspection operations (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beculture.it\/en\/info-biglietteria-uffizi\/#liquids\">info<\/a>).<\/li><li>security personnel, identified by a badge and in uniform, are available to provide information concerning the museum\u2019s collections and services to visitors. Staff is responsible for the security of the works on display and that these rules are followed. Visitors must therefore comply with indications given by security personnel, which are authorised to intervene if necessary and even to remove anyone whose behaviour may jeopardise the safety of the works of art or who may disturb other visitors.<\/li><\/ul><div>As to photographs, according to the Legislative Decree 83\/2014 (article 12 subparagraph 3), it is possible to take photographs (except for works on loan for temporary exhibitions) for personal aims or study purposes, provided that there is no use of flash, stands or tripods.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>For other purposes (publications or other uses for commercial purposes), a specific authorization is required, as well as the payment of a fee as applicable.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Only the use of pencils and digital devices is allowed, while colours, tripods, stands and any kind of cumbersome equipment are forbidden inside the museums.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><p><strong>GROUPS<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Ciascun gruppo non pu\u00f2 superare le 16 persone.<\/li><li>I gruppi devono restare uniti, seguire la guida o l\u2019insegnante\/accompagnatore e tenere un comportamento conveniente e rispettoso, come da regole sopra enunciate.<\/li><li>I gruppi, che accedono agli Uffizi, composti da almeno 11 persone devono acquistare il biglietto\u00a0<em>\u201c<\/em>Maggiorazione grandi gruppi\u201d, eccetto nei casi previsti.<\/li><li>Non \u00e8 consentito alcun tipo di amplificatore.<\/li><li>Nel corso della visita guidata, il tono della voce deve essere tale da non arrecare disturbo agli altri visitatori.<\/li><li>Groups must not exceed 16 persons.<\/li><li>Visitors accompanied by guides must remain in a group, follow the guide or teacher\/accompanying person and keep an appropriate and respectful behaviour, as given in the above indications<\/li><li>To enter the Uffizi, groups of 11 persons or more must pay an \u201cExtra fee for large groups\u201d, in addition to the regular admission ticket, except as thereby given.<\/li><li>No type of voice amplifier is allowed.<\/li><li>During guided tours, the tone of voice must not disturb other visitors.<\/li><li>Groups over six people, guides included, must use headphones (whisper) \u2013 except for the Boboli Gardens \u2013 in order to keep the voice down, as per the Regulation and taking into account the exceptions already foreseen (v. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beculture.it\/en\/info-biglietteria-uffizi\/#headphones\">Mandatory use of headphones<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">). <\/span>A rental service of headphones is available inside museums at the cost of 1.50 EUR per person.<\/li><li>No laser pointers may be used to indicate the works of art.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>School groups<\/strong><\/p><p>Teachers may find information concerning the educational offer and materials here <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uffizi.it\/en\/pages\/families\">link<\/a>. School groups must consist of 16 students maximum, included accompanying persons to visit the museums of Uffizi and Pitti Palace, or 28 to visit the Boboli Gardens.<\/p><div><div>Teachers are responsible for their classes; they must keep pupils together and disciplined and supervise that their behaviour should respect the place, other visitors and in general comply with the above given regulations.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><ul><li>School groups, both those included in the daily maximum number of groups allowed and those entering as individuals, are also obliged to use earphones, as per the Regulation and taking into account the exceptions already foreseen (v. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beculture.it\/en\/info-biglietteria-uffizi\/#headphones\">Mandatory use of headphones<\/a>). Accompanying teachers are, in this case, considered tourist guides and, therefore, shall comply with the same rules. Should they not be interested in giving explanations and using headphones, they have to fill in the specific renunciation form available at the ticket office and attached here <a style=\"font-size: 16px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uffizi.it\/pagine\/gruppi-scolastici-delle-scuole-italiane-e-dell-unione-europea\">qui, <\/a>to be kept for the duration of the whole visit. Explanations without the use of headphones are forbidden.<\/li><\/ul><div><strong>Tour guides<\/strong><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Exercising the profession of tour guide inside the Uffizi Galleries is exclusively allowed to professional guides, pursuant to current legislation. For information concerning any reduced rates for tourist guides, please click here <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uffizi.it\/en\/pages\/guides\">qui<\/a>.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><b>IN CASE OF EMERGENCY<\/b><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>In cases of high attendance, staff may temporarily close some rooms or itineraries in order to safeguard both the works on display and visitors.<\/div><div>In cases of alarm and\/or emergency, visitors must follow the appropriate signs and the indications given by the security personnel. The Gallery can be visited entirely on both the first and second floors.<\/p><p>We wish to inform visitors that the\u00a0<strong>Prints and Drawings Cabinet<\/strong>\u00a0is accessible only from the Grand Ducal Staircase. The elevators are not accessible. It is otherwise possible to reach the second floor first by using the elevator located in the Vasari Auditorium, and then go down to the exhibition floor through the Grand Ducal Staircase. We apologize for the inconvenience. The limitation is due to the area\u2019s refurbishment and conservation works in progress, which is essential to make the museum more visitor-friendly.<\/p><p><strong>Pitti Palace<\/strong><\/p><p>From the square, the climb to the entrance of Pitti Palace is quite steep but gradual. An accompanying person is needed for visitors on wheelchairs. No steps are on the way to the internal courtyard of the Palace where the lifts are located (the lift shaft is on the left side of the staircase).\u00a0<\/p><p>In the internal courtyard, on the right side after the cafeteria, is an accessible toilette.<\/p><p>The entrance to the museums is via lift. Two lifts are located at the end of the tunnel on the left of the staircase, past the cloakroom. The entrance width of the lifts is ca. 90 cm.\u00a0Before taking the lift, it is recommended to ask the staff members, who have to check the correct opening of all the doors on the way to the museums\u2019 entrances.<\/p><p>The\u00a0Palatine Gallery\u00a0and the\u00a0Modern Art Gallery\u00a0are entirely accessible along all directions; the only difficulty may be represented by some glass doors with push-pull opening which may be heavy to move so that a help might be necessary (in case, please ask the staff members for any assistance).<\/p><p>However these kinds of doors are very few because the communication between the rooms is direct, without any barrier.\u00a0 At the end of the Palatine Gallery are the Royal Apartments, which are totally accessible (the floor-covering consists of a moquette).<\/p><p>The Modern Art Gallery, on the second floor, is provided with an accessible toilet.<\/p><p>The\u00a0Costume and Fashion Museum\u00a0is accessible via a stairlift. It is thus necessary to ask the staff members for its activation. The\u00a0Treasury of the Grand Dukes\u00a0is accessible only on the first floor.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Boboli Gardens<\/strong><\/p><div><p>Two entrances are accessible: one is from Pitti Square and the other one from\u00a0<em>Annalena\u00a0<\/em>(via Romana 37\/A). Past the large central basin is the Porcelain Museum, not accessible at the moment. From here the visitor may continue on the left side, part on a plain path and part on the largest sloping paths up to the large Neptune\u2019s basin on the lower part of the Garden, near the\u00a0<em>Porta Romana<\/em>\u00a0exit. To reach the basin from the lateral path the visitor has to mind a rounded off step of ca. 6 cm, traversable with the help of an accompanying person.<\/p><p>The\u00a0<em>Porta Romana<\/em>\u00a0exit is accessible (while the one along\u00a0<em>via Romana\u00a0<\/em>is not, owing to the difficult path which passes through a building with internal and external staircases).<\/p><p>Also the path back to the Palace through the lemon houses and greenhouses is uphill but accessible.
